IMQubator

Nurturing top financial talent into high-quality investment managers for the pension industry

IMQubator is a new fund with an initial size of €250 million, specifically aimed at starting asset managers. IMQubator will support initiatives of experienced investment managers who want to start up their own business with seed capital to make a good start. An important precondition is that these new investment funds must operate from The Netherlands.

With IMQubator, innovation and entrepreneurship in asset management is stimulated, while at the same time financial top talent can maximize its potential in The Netherlands. IMQubator enables pension funds to participate in these investment funds in a cost efficient manner. APG is the first institutional pension fund investor that has expressed its intention to participate in this initiative. Talks with other pension funds are under way . The initiative for IMQubator comes from parties united in HFC.

MQubator wants to give a lasting innovative impulse to the asset management industry in The Netherlands by coupling pension investors to innovation and starting top talents, now and in the future. It is expected that every asset management start-up in which IMQubator invests, can stand on its own feet after five to seven years.

Next to assets under management, IMQubator will also provide starters with fiscal and legal advice and support with regard to risk management and administrative matters.
